Star Energy Geothermal Received 1 Proper Gold and 2 Proper Green Awards

Star Energy Geothermal (Wayang Windu), Limited (SEGWWL) again received the Gold PROPER award (Performance Rating Assessment for Company/ Industries) in Environmental Management for year 2021. Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Ma’ruf Amin and Minister of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Siti Nurbaya Bakar presented the award to the Deputy Group Chief Power Plant Operations Officer of SEG, Suharsono Dharmono at the Palace of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, Tuesday (28 December 2021).
“This year’s PROPER Gold’s is the 6th consecutive award from 2016 to 2021 and is the 9 th in total for SEGWWL since the PROPER program was held by KLHK. This is the result of the hard work and cooperation of all SEG employees to achieve the best, even though Indonesia is still in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic,” explained Heribertus Dwiyudha, SEG Group Chief Power Plant Operations Officer.
On the same day, the Director General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control (PPKL), Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ir. Sigit Reliantoro handed over the 2021 Green PROPER award virtually to Star Energy Geothermal Salak, Ltd, (SEGS) and Star Energy Geothermal Darajat II, Limited, (SEGD).
In 2021’s assessment, 47 companies received Gold PROPER, 186 companies received Green PROPER and 1670 companies received Blue PROPER. For the Red PROPER category, there are 645 companies, 500 of which are companies that have been assessed for the first time this year
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin explained, over the past 24 years, Proper has developed into a platform for the business world to carry out sustainable business practices by implementing green economy principles. “I hope that this achievement will continue to be maintained and improved. If there are companies that still get a red rating, I ask to work hard to catch up, so that they can meet environmental standards as stated in various government regulations”.
Meanwhile, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya explained that the level of company compliance in 2021 with environmental regulations shows that no company has received a black rating. The company’s compliance rate in 2021 to environmental regulations has reached 75 percent even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
